Vote for your Citzen of the Year

Printer Print Article

ADVERTISER readers have joined in the search to find Helensburgh's Citizen of the Year. Votes have flooded in for each of our short-listed candidates — but there is still time to cast YOUR vote.

Our Citizen of the Year will receive his or her award from Rangers manager and Helensburgh resident Walter Smith during a ceremony at Helensburgh Golf Club.

To cast your vote, simply follow the instructions in the panel below.

The candidate who collects most votes will be our Citizen of the Year.

The Citizen of the Year honour is one of five awards which will be presented at the Helensburgh and District Community Spirit Awards on February 8.

The winners in the other four categories — Unsung Hero of the Year, Sportsperson of the Year, Employer of the Year and Young Achiever of the Year will be selected by the Awards Committee and presented with their prize on the night.

Mary Horswell, of the Rotary Club of Helensburgh Garelochside, said: `The Community Spirit Awards are a chance for us to say a big 'thank you' to the people who make this area so special.

`We expected a good response from Advertiser readers and that's exactly what we've got. There is still plenty of time to cast a vote and we would urge anyone who hasn't done so to get their form in as soon as possible — one vote really could make a difference.`

* Readers who live outside the Advertiser's circulation area can vote via email. Please send the name of the citizen you wish to vote for, with your own full address and telephone number, to agreenwood@helensburghadvertiser.co.uk.
