IT will be the end of a 40-year education era when Helensburgh’s Hermitage Academy closes it doors for the last time on Friday.

The final term for pupils came last week when they left what was the largest school in Argyll and Bute in preparation for the move to the new building.

This week in the Advertiser we have an exclusive feature showing pictures taken on pupils' final, historic day in the old building.

Every pupil - not to mention teachers and parents - will want to keep this special, nostalgic photo-feature.
