Pool faces closure over refurb plan
By Steve McElroy
HELENSBURGH Swimming Pool faces closure for up to five months next year to allow a major refurbishment programme to be carried out.
Users of the pool, sauna and steam rooms, and gymnasium will be among those affected by the shut down while work is carried out to upgrade the premises and facilities — and make the services more efficient and environmentally friendly.
Argyll and Bute Council is in the process of developing proposals to carry out the upgrade of the pool as part of its five year asset sustainability programme.
A council spokesperson confirmed the proposal this week and said:
“The aim of the proposed upgrade works is to open up space and to create a more comfortable, motivating and accessible environment for the public and for families in particular.”
