IN GOOD SHAPE: Charlie and Rachel with silverware.

TWO body-building champions brought back three trophies from the British finals last week.

Helensburgh Swimming Pool Fitness co-ordinators Charlie McKee and colleague Rachel Temple achieved third place in the couples section and both gained fifth places in their individual categories.

The two took part in the National Physique Association British finals at Leamington Spa.

Charlie was disappointed with his result in the Masters as, in the same event last year, he achieved third place, but nevertheless he was pleased to be awarded a trophy to add to his already impressive collection.

For Rachel 33, this was her first year of competing and was delighted that she has done so well.

Charlie said: “The British standard in the competition is getting higher and higher. I was third last year and fourth the year before and I had hoped that I might improve my position, but it was not to be.

“But I had my family and friends at the competition and it was good to have them there and cheer me and Rachel on. This was the last competition of the season and I now intend taking a year out of contests as I have been doing this for six years on the trot.”

Rachel achieved her place in the 55 kilos category against seven other competitors who had come from all over Britain.

Charlie also achieved a third place in the Masters section while Rachel won her event in the 55kg category which qualified them for the British finals.
