No short measures in Burgh
DRINKERS have been handed short measures in Argyll and Bute’s licensed premises — but not in Helensburgh and Lomond.
According to figures revealed this week, Argyll and Bute was up to 17 per cent worse than the national average with staff error being blamed for the problem.
But the statistics do NOT relate to Helensburgh and Lomond as officers were unable to undertake checks in the area due to staffing issues.
Lomond Councillor Danny Kelly, Chair of the Licensing Board, is “very disappointed with the results” and will be working with the licensed trade to improve training.
He added: “Customers should get what they pay for. We treat any report of short measure seriously.”
