CAPLE signed off in style from their home pitch at the old Hermitage Academy at the weekend.

Playing what could well be the last two games on the astroturf surface, the boys ensured they left a lasting impression before they too prepare to take advantage of the superb facilities at the new school.

On Saturday afternoon, Caple entertained a strong and well disciplined Barrhead Boys Club in the West Regional Cup Round Three tie that was spoiled to some extent by strong winds.

At half-time, all that separated the sides was a well-converted penalty kick from Frazer Chalmers.

Caple dominated the second half, playing some very attractive football against the wind and eventually ran out comfortable 4-0 winners, with goals from Jonny Dyer and two from Ben Craig.

They now progress into the quarter finals of the competition where they will face Rossvale Boys Club from Bishopbriggs.

On Sunday, they played Partick Thistle FCBC in the first round of the Ian Wishart Cup — a knock-out tournament for all teams registered in the SYCA League.

Although their opponents never gave up trying to play good football, Caple won by the same scoreline as the previous day.

A brace from Frazer Chalmers and one from Jonny Dyer gave them a well deserved lead at the break and a further goal from Douglas Willoughby capped off yet another fine display. Caple now await the winners of the postponed fixture between Celtic BC and Baljaffray BC in the next round.

Both matches provided a welcome break from the pressures of an exciting league campaign, where Caple have led the SYCA League since the very start.

Still to drop a point — the only team with a 100 per cent record so far — Caple proudly sit top of the 1st Division with 33 points froom 11 games played.

And from a fond farewell it will soon be a welcome hello to the new Academy as they look to play some midweek games to catch up on postponed matches.
