TALENTED: David McGregor receives his award from Kirk Reed.

A BURGH swing sensation has taken the States by storm.

Talented golfer David McGregor, who plays for Post University in Waterbury, Connectictut, has just been named both the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) player of the year and the rookie of the year.

David, pictured left receiving his award from Kirk Reed, Assistant Commissioner of the CAAC, has helped his team to their third straight conference championship.

The freshman fired a four-under par 67, to lead the Post University men’s golf team to glory at the Back Creek Golf Course.

And his 142 for the two rounds earned him individual medalist honours into the bargain as he finished nine shots ahead of second placed Thomas Lalonde.

Victory for the team means they earn the right to represent the conference in the regional championships.

These tee off at the same Back Creek course on Monday.
