Pupils get cross country

RUNNING ON: Young pupils displayed their talents.
THE annual Helensburgh Honda Primary Schools Cross Country Relay Championships took place on Wednesday April 30, at the Duchess Woods.
This year saw an increase of seven local Primary Schools participating and, despite rather wet conditions, there were some very encouraging performances from all the competitors.
Margery Taylor, Event organiser and Head of PE at Lomond School, said, “Many thanks are due to Denise Walker from Hermitage Academy, Lomond’s P.E. department, Lesley Serpell and Liz Gladden for assisting with the organisation of the event.
“Also a very big thank you to all the staff and parents behind the scenes in preparing the teams and assisting on the day.”
Results: Primary 6 Girls — 1st Lomond (M Calder, L Paterson, K McPhie); 2nd Hermitage (R Claxton, A Willis, L Jackson); 3rd Cardross (R Hamilton, L Ritchie, I McManus); 4th Rhu (G Williamson, H Hastings, R Mansfield); 5th Colgrain M Robertson, C Hassall, K Bond); 6th JLB (S Stewart, H Butler, K White); 7th Kilcreggan (L Sharp, O Handforth, S McKnight).
Primary 6 Boys — 1st Hermitage (M Wardle, T Storey, H Yeomans); 2nd Rhu (K Losh, G Morrison, H Johnson); 3rd Cardross (C Smith, R Willams, H Mills); 4th Lomond (E Millar, M Serpell, A Walker); 5th Colgrain (B Cameron, L Fagan, L Grant); 6th JLB (J Law, E McIntosh, L Crawford).
