Bike bros in great shape
By David Christie
BROTHERHOOD: Liam and Adam Lyon
BROTHERS Liam and Adam Lyon have started their race season in style.
After two completed rounds, Liam leads the MRO Dyna-Pro Supersport 600 Championship by 24 points.
And his sibling Adam is also out in front in the EDI Asia Formula 400 Championships by a whopping 71 points after three rounds.
Liam’s first round kicked off at Donington Park where he took all four race wins to establish a comfortable championship lead.
His second round, at Cadwell Park, was not so smooth with Liam twice crashing out of the lead.Despite picking up minor injuries, he finished second overall including one race win.
Adam started at Brands Hatch, finishing fifth with a race win to boot.
At Snetterton in round two, Adam put the pedal to the metal and shattered the 400cc lap record by 0.2 seconds en route to a second place finish which propelled him into the Championship lead.
Another lap record in round three — and four wins from four — puts him well ahead of the chasing pack.
The brothers have little time to rest, with Liam gearing up for the next round at Brands Hatch while Adam heads to France for a June race at Croix En Ternois.
Both boys are already plotting a bid to compete in the British Championships next year. Anyone keen to help them along the way can contact their racing team at teamlyonracing@hotmail.co.uk.
