MICHELLE Hetherington went one better than last year to run out an athletics master.
The Helensburgh Athletic’s club member capped a fine season in the summer road racing campaign, finishing first in the masters category.
And her fellow Burgh athletes kept pace to earn HAAC the runners-up prize in the team award after the final race of the Stewart’s Scottish Grand Prix Series.
The Series comprises 10 of the country’s top races over the 5K, 10K and half marathon distances, in places as far apart as Inverness and Jedburgh.
Points are awarded at each race and runners’ best six performances comprise their final total.
With double points at stake in the final race — the Jedburgh half marathon — there was all to play for.
