Support for new community centre
Members of the Helensburgh Community Centre Trust would like to express their thanks and appreciation to those who took the time to visit the presentation of the Trust’s plans for a new community centre in Helensburgh in the Victoria Halls last week.
Their interest, support and suggestions were a source of great encouragement to the trustees and endorsed the long held view that “it’s just what we need” to quote the headline of the covering report in last week’s edition of this newspaper.
The later will also have added significantly to community awareness of the Trust’s goals for which we are also grateful.
All observations made by visitors were supportive, with particular approval voiced on the proposed location of the centre behind the Victoria Halls, the accommodation and facilities provided, the external design and landscaping of the building — modern yet discreet — and the provision of storage.
Not surprisingly, suggestions were made as to how the layout might perhaps be improved.
These while relatively few in number have been taken on board for consideration and every effort will be made to incorporate them into the final internal design of the building as appropriate and practical.
One again, our thanks to all.
