Rotary thanks all for Spirit award success

I would appreciate the opportunity, through your letters page, to thank the many people who made our Community Spirit event both possible and successful.
This was the second year of the new-style event, which is run jointly by the Helensburgh Advertiser and the Rotary Club of Helensburgh Garelochside. The event seems to have tuned in to a need in our community to celebrate and build upon the many positives we are fortunate enough to enjoy in our area, and the public responded accordingly.
Firstly, a big thank-you to Walter Smith for taking time out of a busy and successful schedule to add support and a great deal of kudos to our Community Spirit Awards. Grateful thanks to our generous and loyal sponsors, whose support we rely on for making this occasion possible — McArthur Stanton, Paul Hammond, Stewart and Shields, Helensburgh Online, Edward Jones and Helensburgh Co-operative.
We thank Gibson and his team at Helensburgh Golf Club for a delightful venue and for being extremely flexible and accommodating over the dates for this occasion.
To David Campbell from the Helensburgh Trophy Shop for an excellent job and his support as always with the trophies.
To Dave Ross and the Your Radio team for the very professional Oscar-style presentation of the Awards. It was all great fun.
To Provost Petrie, Jackie Baillie MSP and other local representatives for lending their support to this positive initiative by joining us on our glittering evening.
And last, but by no means least, a big thank you to all our winners and finalists. for contributing, each in your own way, and for being the stars that sparkle in the Helensburgh community.
