A SCOTTISH actor and director is getting back on stage and is set to visit Helensburgh and Clydebank.

After two years filming David Hayman is set to reprise a successful character to look at where Scotland stands now. Bob Cunningham, protagonist of The Pitiless Storm, a one-man show written by Chris Dolan which toured extensivelyin the run up to 2014's Referendum.

It's two years after the independence referendum and Bob has stuff on his mind. Whether or not to take early retirement and why Ethel, his ex, who hasn't been around for 20 years has suddenly resurfaced.

Then, there's politics, and what to do about the no vote, Corbyn and Brexit.

The Cause of Thunder, again written by Chris Dolan, is set to tour Scotland in February and March. It is directed by David Hayman Jr (David’s son) and produced by FairPley. The tour includes both Clydebank and Helensburgh.

David Hayman said: "Bob is a storyteller. In The Cause of Thunder he’s telling his own story – and asking where he (and each of us) stands. Is his life’s work done? Is he finished? Can he come to terms with his, and his country’s, past, and future? "

The Cause of Thunder will open in Oban on February 1 and travel across Scotland. The play will take to the stage in Clydebank Town Hall on February 7 and Helensburgh's Victoria Halls on February 19.
