THERE were hugs all round at Colgrain Primary after its table top sale raised more than £1,000 for school funds.

The community was out in force to support the parent teacher council organised event – and there were plenty of bargains to be found amongst the stalls – clothes, toys and accessories to facepainting, a tombola and games.

And as gorgeous sunshine beat down on proceedings, crowds also enjoyed a visit from the fire service, MoD Police, the Clyde Marine Unit, Toyota Cars, YOUR Radio and even a bomb disposal squad.

The £1,171 was raised on the day which will be used to benefit all the children of Colgrain Primary and its nursery unit.

Janet Frame, chairwoman of the school’s parent teacher council, was delighted with the turnout and the amount raised.

She told the Advertiser: “The day was a fantastic success, fabulous weather, a good turnout from the local community, who enjoyed many different things on offer.

“The military and emergency services are always a big hit with the children along with the bouncy castle of course.

“Thanks to all who turned out, and to everyone who helped make the day possible.”
