A PLANT sale to raise money for the beneficiaries of the Scotland's Gardens scheme will be held at the Hill House in Helensburgh this Sunday, September 3.

The event, from 11.30am-4pm, will include a wide selection of nursery-grown perennials, locally-grown trees, shrubs, herbaceous, alpine and house plants.

There will also be a tearoom available inside the Hill House during the event.

Other events taking place around Helensburgh and Lomond over the next few days include:

- Saturday, September 2: a craft, coffee and table top sale from 10am-2pm in the United Reformed Church hall, hosted by the Helensburgh Savoy Musical Theatre Group.

A huge variety of stalls to browse, home-made soup, freshly made-to-order bacon rolls and home baking will all be on offer. £1 entry includes a drink.

- Sunday, September 3: Helensburgh and West Dunbartonshire Ramblers' walk to Ben Our near Loch Earn. Meet at Helensburgh Swimming Pool car park at 9.30am.

- Sunday, September 3: Friends of Duchess Wood work party, meeting at the Strathclyde Court garages at 2pm. Work is likely to include clearing culverts blocked by recent heavy rain and reinstating vandalised marker posts.
