Helensburgh CID are investigating a sneak in theft from a private home in Ferniegair Avenue.
The break in happened at around 5pm on Tuesday, November 24, whereby the householder disturbed a male within her home who stole a small amount of property.
Community Inspector Coleen Wylie said: "Local enquiries are ongoing but we are appealing to local residents and members of the public to contact us with any information they have that could assist the enquiry, as the householders have understandably been left shaken by the incident.
"I’d also like to remind residents to lock all doors even when you are at home, as thieves may well take advantage of this."
If you saw any males/vehicles in the area or observe anyone behaving suspiciously then call 101, call into Helensburgh office or email the police via HelensburghCentralCPT@scotland.pnn.police.uk.
Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
