Police in Helensburgh are appealing for information about an incident in which a man was seen acting suspiciously in the children's play area at the town's Hermitage Park.

Helensburgh CID officers are anxious to speak to anyone who was within or around the park at around 12.20pm on Tuesday, June 14.

The suspect male is described as white European, in his 60s or 70s, around six feet tall and of heavy build.

He was described as having grey (salt-and-pepper) collar-length untidy hair and a full-grown beard, wearing a yellow mac coat, grey or blue trousers – possibly corduroys – and was carrying a dark wood walking stick.
