Police are appealing for information from the public after the latest in a series of mountain-bike thefts in the Arrochar and Ardlui areas.

The most recent incident saw a mountain bike attached to the roof rack of a vehicle parked at the Ardlui Hotel stolen between 9.15pm on Saturday and 9am on Sunday.

This follows another forced removal of an adult Stumpjumper mountain bike attached to the top of a vehicle parked in a private driveway in Arrochar overnight on July 3-4, and two bikes were stolen from the vicinity of the Village Inn, also in Arrochar, between 6pm on June 11 and the morning of June 12.

You can also register your bicycle securely at the National Cycle Database (bikeregister.com), where you can also download a bike logbook to record your bicycle’s details. Bike owners are also advised to apply a security mark to the frame of their bicycle, with details including your home postcode and house number, using a UV pen or another method.
