HELENSBURGH Rugby Club played host to around 200 primary school children for a festival of rugby.
Primary four children from Garelochhead, Hermitage, Colgrain, St Joseph’s and Cardross attended the event organised by rugby development officer Adam Hart, assistant development officer Mark Ashdown and Argyll and Bute Council’s Active Schools co-ordinator Martin Caldwell.
The festival was the finale to an exciting block of curricular tag rugby that took place over a four-week period in all 11 local primary schools.
The children were treated to a variety of games and skills-based sessions throughout the day which were delivered by volunteers from Helensburgh Rugby Club as well as youth sports volunteers from Lomond School.
The aim was to encourage youngsters to take up the sport in Helensburgh.
