THE Scottish Chamber Orchestra (SCO) are returning to Helensburgh to perform in the Victoria Halls.

The Scottish Chamber Orchestra players are renowned for their unique blend of passion, skill and energy and are committed to bringing high quality music to communities across Scotland.

The concert in Helensburgh on September 16 is part of an extensive summer touring programme which runs from May to September and will this year showcase the talents of SCO Principal Players as soloists.

The show will open with Beethoven’s Coriolan Overture, this concert is directed from the violin by SCO Associate Artist Alexander Janiczek, a leading musician in his field, having lead both the SCO and Chamber Orchestra of Europe in the past, and now performing as soloist and chamber musician across the world.

His energy and creativity on stage make him a popular collaborator with the Orchestra. Janiczek closes the programme with Mozart’s ever-popular and optimistic Symphony No 36 and also brings Schubert’s delightful German Dances to the programme, arranged by Webern.

SCO Principal Clarinet Maximiliano Martín combines his position at the SCO with international solo and chamber music engagements and masterclasses all around the world.

He completes this programme with the soaring melodies of Louis Spohr’s Second Clarinet Concerto.

The event will take place in the Victoria Halls on Friday, September 16 starting at 7.30pm.

Tickets for the event are priced at £16, a senior ticket is £14, a student ticket costs £6 and Under 16’s is £5.

Tickets can be purchased at the Victoria Halls Box Office or online by visiting the SCO website at www.sco.org.uk
