IF you're looking for something to do this weekend in the Helensburgh area this weekend, there is, as ever, a busy local events calendar on Saturday and Sunday.

Morar Lodge in Helensburgh hosts its annual summer fete on Saturday, August 27, between 1pm and 3pm.

This year's event has a Caribbean/tropical theme, and will feature stalls and a barbecue.

It's a double celebration this year as the home's owner, Mrs Dormer, marks 30 years in the care home business, and former councillor and past Argyll and Bute provost Billy Petrie has been invited along to say a few words about Mrs Dormer's success.

Also on Saturday, Cove Burgh Hall is set to host its annual RNLI flower show, with various entries and awards.

Doors open at 2pm and people will have the chance to view the entries before the prize-giving at 2.30pm.

There will then be the chance to buy most of the entries, with all proceeds going to the RNLI.

The event is open to everyone and there will be home baking in the tearoom, a bottle stall, a plant sale and an RNLI souvenir stall.

Then, on Sunday, there's a plant sale in the gardens of Hill House in Helensburgh from 11am to 4pm, with a tearoom inside the house itself.

There is no admission charge, but donations are welcome, with all proceeds going to Scotland's Gardens Beneficiaries.
