CHANGES to bus times between Helensburgh, Garelochhead and Coulport will take effect from Monday, September 26.

Buses on the 316 service, which is jointly operated by Garelochhead Mini Buses and Coaches and Wilson's of Rhu, will generally operate five minutes earlier than at present, to provide better connections with trains at Helensburgh Central.

The changes have been announced after ScotRail decided to make permanent a 'temporary' timetable on the Helensburgh route brought into force by the 20-week closure of the Queen Street Tunnel in Glasgow city centre earlier this year.

From this Monday, most services from Helensburgh will leave on the hour (to Coulport via Kilcreggan) and at 30 minutes past the hour (to Garelochhead).

In the opposite direction, services to Helensburgh will leave on the hour from both Coulport and Garelochhead.

However, the times of early morning services – generally those before 8am – remain the same as at present.

From Monday, the last departures from Monday to Saturday will be at 10pm (Helensburgh to Coulport), 10pm (Coulport to Helensburgh), and 11pm (Helensburgh to Garelochhead).

Sunday times remain the same as at present.
