HELENSBURGH and Lomond residents are invited to get into the festive spirit this weekend at the Luss Advent Fair.

And for those who are already feeling a little bah humbug about how early preparation begins for the most magical time of year - the event will raise cash for Broomwood in Ethiopia - a charitable school in Gondar.

Taking place on Saturday (October 22), the event will run from 10.30am until 4.30pm in the picturesque Loch Lomond Arms Hotel.

As well as an opportunity to enjoy the best best of Scottish food, crafts, food and drink there will be plenty more for families to enjoy.

Father Christmas will drop by the hotel library with youngsters offered the chance to let the man himself know what they'd like this Christmas.

Each child will receive a certificate after their important meeting while an elf will be on stand-by to collect letters to Sara from a special North Pole postbox.

Creative kids are also invited to take part in a Christmas crafts competition with the designs displayed in the window of Luss General Store as part of the Christmas window display.

What's more, there's a chance to win goodies from the store as Santa will select his favourites on the day.

There's plenty for the grown-ups to enjoy too, including a raffle complete with luxury prizes such as a stay at the Loch Lomond Arms Hotel or lunch at Luss Seafood Bar to name just a few.

And if that's not enough, there will also be a yurt in the gardens of the hotel which will have a cosy woodburning stove and rugs and cushions for families to enjoy captivating tales by story teller from 1-3.30pm.
