AUTHOR Angela Proctor recently visited Helensburgh Library to read a chapter from her first book to pupils from St Joseph’s Primary School.

Angela read a chapter from her first book, Thumble Tumble and the Ollpheist before leading the children in one of her Imagination Challenges.

For the challenge children were tasked with creating spells and potions and Angela was impressed with the exceptional creativity shown by the children who conjured up all sorts of fantastic words and ideas to help scare away Spike Back Giants.

Angela said: “I just love introducing children to my mystical, wonderful, magical stories and this time my adventure was made extra special with the hospitality and welcome I received from both Helensburgh Library staff and the children of St Joseph’s.

“I was also thrilled by the excitement shown by the children when hearing about my Budding Blogger Competition announced recently. I’d love to see one of the St Joseph’s children on the winners list and wish everyone the very best of luck with their entries.”

As well as reading to the children from St Joseph’s Angela stopped off to share her book with the pupils of Bonhill Primary and St Mary’s Primary

The third in the eight series of books that follows Thumble Tumble’s adventures on the island is well under way but it is not known where Angela’s Thistle Pixies, Grumpy Toads and Night witches will go next.
