PUPILS from schools at both ends of Helensburgh and Lomond have been showing off their artwork to family and friends.

The kids at Cardross Primary and Kilcreggan Primary got creative as they produced artwork which was then framed and exhibited for all to admire.

The halls of both schools were transformed into galleries for the day, with parents and friends invited along to visit the exhibition, browse the works of art and even purchase the ones that caught their attention.

Kilcreggan Primary headteacher Frances Bretman said: “The pupils were delighted with their work and took great pride in showing their guests around.

“Parents commented on the high standard and quality of the artwork and many paintings were bought on the day.”

Cardross Primary pupils enjoyed similar success, with their creations proving popular with parents.

Elspeth Davis, the school’s headteacher, said she was proud of the quality of the artwork produced

She added: “We took great pleasure in seeing our artwork displayed in a professional exhibition.

“Some classes had studied works by famous artists, such as Matisse and Kandinsky, and used this to provide inspiration for their finished works.”
