MEMBERS of Loch Lomond Ski Club once again donned fancy dress and took to the water in the annual event.

Four skiers took to the water, a lower number than usual but event organiser David Henderson, president of Loch Lomond Ski Club, is still confident a few hundred pounds has been raised for the charity.

Each year the club chose a charity to fundraise for. Last year saw CHAS (Children's Hospice Association Scotland) benefit from the members and friends efforts and this year Fastworks Bonhill will be the recipients of the funds raised.

Fastworks Bonhill has been running for around four years and aims to improve the lives of families in the Bonhill area by aiming to get them communicating better.

Braving the cold water this year were hardcore regulars Alex Greaves, Matthew Linning, Tom Scott and Stewart Mellan.

Also attending as a spectator was Audrey Kinghorn, who took part in the event in 1983 and looked back at her photograph on display on the day.

On hand again this year to ensure the safety of the skiers was the Loch Lomond Rescue Boat.

David Henderson said: "Despite having a lower number of skiers than previous years and windy conditions to contend with I am happy to still have achieved our objective of raising money for our charity.

"We aim to raise around £1000 so anything close to that would be great.

"The Rescue Boat are helpful every year and we appreciate them assisting with our event."

Thanks is extended to all those who braved the water on the day, those who went along to spectate and support and to all those who help with the organisation and coordination of the event.
