MEMBERS of a jazz quartet are set to entertain crowds in Helensburgh this weekend when they perform as part of Helensburgh Music Society's annual concert series.

The concert will see the Brian Molley Quartet - Brian Molley on saxophone, Tom Gibbs on piano, Mario Caribe on bass and Stuart Brown on drums - perform some music from their forthcoming second album, which follows on from the success of their first, CLOCK.

The programme includes a collection of original compositions alongside reimagined classic American songbook standards which will demonstrate a broad range of musical influences while maintaining a keen respect for the jazz tradition.

The quartet have made appearances at Glasgow and Manchester Jazz Festivals and at the Edinburgh Fringe as part of the Creative Scotland curated 'Made in Scotland' programme, among appearances at other events.

Helensburgh Music Society has been organising an annual concert series at the Victoria Halls since 1980 and are looking forward to the penultimate concert in their 2016-17 programme.

The concert will take place in the Victoria Halls this weekend, Saturday, February 18, starting at 7.45pm.

Tickets for the event can be purchased at the Victoria Halls, the Scandinavian Shop, at the door on the night, or in advance at www.wegottickets.com.
