AN ELDERLY woman in Cardross has become the latest person living in the Helensburgh and Lomond area to fall victim to a scam.
The woman received a phone call from a man pretending to represent Google, who told her she owed outstanding money.
She paid out £1,400 before realising she had been the victim of a scam.
Inspector Coleen Wylie from Helensburgh police office said: “I would like to urge all residents to be mindful of the various tactics criminals use – in person, over the phone and online – to try and obtain money or personal information.”
