HELENSBURGH'S volunteer lifeboat crew were called out on Friday evening to help a motor cruiser in difficulty near Greenock.
The crew was asked by the coastguard to respond to a call for assistance from the crew of the 24-foot vessel, which had had to drop anchor after getting a mooring line caught round its propeller near the James Watt Dock.
The lifeboat launched at 6.26pm, and once on scene the lifeboat crew freed the prop from the mooring line which enabled the cruiser to complete its passage.
The lifeboat then returned to station and reported ready for service again at 7.27pm.
