EFFIE Walker never thought a huge lollipop would bring her any luck but that’s exactly what happened when she scooped a top gong.
The Helensburgh woman was voted Argyll and Bute’s best lollipop person and received her award from TV star Lorraine Kelly at Glasgow’s Scotland Street School.
Effie, who helps Colgrain Primary school youngsters cross the road, said: “I am absolutely thrilled to have been acknowledged in the Scottish Lollipop Person of the Year Awards.
“The awards ceremony in Glasgow made me feel really special and it was a super experience meeting Lorraine Kelly.
“It’s a big responsibility making sure the children get to school safely and part of my job is to gain their trust and respect, so it’s great to receive this kind of award.”
