TIME is running out to register to vote in next month's UK general election.
If you're not currently registered to vote at your present address, you'll need to register by this Monday, May 22, in order to take part in the June 8 poll and elect the next MP to represent Helensburgh, and the rest of Argyll and Bute, in the House of Commons.
Voters in Scotland can register online at gov.uk/registertovote, while you can also contact Argyll and Bute Council's electoral registration office on (01586) 555300 to check whether you're registered.
If you're already registered, you don't need to do so again.
Four candidates are standing in the Argyll and Bute contest – Alan Reid (Liberal Democrat), Brendan O'Hara (SNP), Gary Mulvaney (Conservative) and Michael Kelly (Labour).
