HELENSBURGH dancers won big at the final competition of the season recently.

The pupils from Silver Spirit Cheer and Dance, from the Moe’s School of Dancing, returned from the competition at Bellahouston Sports Centre with an impressive medal haul.

Dancers in all age categories impressed the judges and did their dancing school proud.

The team, which consisted of pupils aged from five to 23 returned to Helensburgh with many trophies to their names.

The tiny team, made up of dancers aged five to seven years-old managed to grasp first place for the first time this year, much to the delight of the whole team.

The mini team, pupils aged seven to nine-years-old managed to achieve second place for pom, the highest position they have placed all season, as well as second for acro.

The youth team, made up of dancers aged between nine and 12 managed to wipe the floor taking first place, over 30 points ahead of second place.

The youth team managed the highest pom score of the day, making them the overall grand champions and the winners of a £100 cash prize.

The team of nine to 12-year-olds, which also managed to place second for lyrical jazz, consisted of Sophie Head, Blythe Williamson, Ellie Dunstance, Ashleigh Dickson, Rebecca Patterson, Poppy Walker, Mia Reid, Megan Minshull, Amelia Murphy, Rhianna Patterson and Eva Campbell.

The junior team, aged 12-15 took fourth place and both senior routines grabbed second place for pom and contemporary.
