A GROUP of Free Church of Scotland members held their first service in Helensburgh at the Helensburgh and Lomond Civic Centre on Sunday, May 7.
It was the result of several months of work by the members of the Glasgow City Free Church (GCFC) who live in Helensburgh.
The group, who remain under the auspices of GCFC, have been meeting regularly as a small group for several months, and with help from the GCFC’s minister, the Rev Colin Dow, and the Free Church’s mission development officer, Nathan Olson, are working towards launching public services in the town this autumn.
At present the nearest Free Church of Scotland congregation to Helensburgh is located in Latta Street in Dumbarton.
