HELENSBURGH Dementia Resource Centre will be opening the doors to the public to allow them to find out more about the work they do and take part in a number of activities.

Dementia Awareness Week is set to run from Monday, May 29 until Sunday, June 4 and the Centre is inviting people along all week to have a look around, meet members of staff and take the opportunity to try out one of their groups.

The Centre will be open to the public Monday to Friday from 10am until 4pm.

On Tuesday, May 30, the public have the opportunity to take part in the Local Vocals group from 1.30pm until 3pm or the Dementia Friends session from 5.30- 6.30pm.

On Wednesday, May 31 the Cognitive Stimulation Therapy Group will meet at 10.30am followed by tea and a blether from 2-4pm.

The book group will meet at 10am on Thursday, June 1, followed by a Dementia Friends Session from 2-3pm, a Cognitive Stimulation Therapy Group Session at 2pm and carer's support and advice at 7pm.

Friday, June 2, will see the public able to participate in a social work drop-in from 11am until 1pm, followed by a knitting bee at 1.30pm.

A variety Show on behalf of Alzheimer's Scotland will be held at The Tower Digital Arts Centre on Sunday, June 4 at 1.30pm. Tickets are priced at £8 for adults, £6.50 for concessions and £5 for children.
