The Sea Change annual arts festival went with a swing on the Rosneath Peninsula last weekend.

The annual event kicked off in Cove Burgh Hall on the Friday with a Para Handy evening – two episodes of the legendary Vital Spark series starring Roddy MacMillan in the first, and Gregor Fisher in the second. And in between the audience enjoyed a sea faring cabaret from Joyce Falconer and Annie Grace whilst tucking into a maritime supper snack.

Blustery weather didn’t stop the fancy dress parade from Kilcreggan to Cove on Saturday morning which included two spectacular floats of a castle and a pyramid and was led by the stars of Let’s Circus who went on to provide a Saturday afternoon circus workshop - a taster for their full show on Saturday night.

That show went down a storm, so much so that about a third of the audience for the packed encore on Sunday morning comprised returnees from the night before!

The grand finale was at Cove Park, home of an international artists’ residency programme, which hosted the children’s art exhibition.

Florence Dwyer, one of the residents, helped choose the young winners or the art competition before a barbecue and concert with the Peninsula Choir, directed by Stephen Adams, featuring soloists Pippa Reid Foster, on the harp, and Jarvis Jamieson, the accordion.
