POLICE have arrested a 25-year-old man at an address in Helensburgh on suspicion of committing an assault.

The man is alleged to have carried out the attack on a 26-year-old man.

The same man is also alleged to have resisted arrest and assaulted and verbally abused police.

He was kept in police custody pending an appearance in court.

Meanwhile, a 50-year-old woman was assaulted in her home in Ferry Road in Rosneath on Thursday, July 13.

The man alleged to have been responsible, a 26-year-old relative of the woman, was arrested by police and appeared in court the following day in connection with the incident.
