POLICE in Helensburgh have renewed their appeal for information from the public after a second bicycle theft in the area.

Following our report earlier this week on the theft of an Apollo road bike from outside a property in Glenfinlas Street, police are now also seeking information about the theft of a mountain bike from Ardgartan Caravan Park near Arrochar.

The men's Canyon Nerve AN9.9 mountain bike, stealth black or grey in colour, is worth £2,500 and was stolen from the roof of a motor vehicle between 5pm and 5.20pm on Sunday, June 25.

Any information in relation to the theft can be passed on to police by contacting 101 quoting crime reference number LB02040617 or by dialling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

The Glenfinlas Street theft took place between 8pm on July 28 and 9.30pm on August 1, when an aqua blue Apollo road bike, with a broken left handle brake, was stolen.

If you have any information about the Glenfinlas Street theft, contact police on 101 quoting crime reference number LB00200817 or dial Crimestoppers.

Similar incidents, involving the theft of three bikes from locations in Cardross and Arrochar, were reported in the Advertiser in the summer of 2016 and led to a reminder from police to bike owners to ensure their bicycles are kept secure at all times.
