A DESIGN panel to plan the future development of Helensburgh’s award winning outdoor museum is looking for volunteers.

Members of the public with an interest in the arts are being sought to join the panel alongside representatives from the council, community councils and local arts groups.

The group will meet on a regular basis to review funding proposals and applications, allocate plinth or installation of artwork and make recommendations to develop an arts strategy to the Helensburgh and Lomond area committee.

The museum in the town’s Colquhoun Square features a display of objects which have both a local connection and a national and international significance.

To date 15 of the plinths have unique artwork installed with accompanying text and a QR code that connects to the Outdoor Museum website.

The museum has been received well by the local community, visitors to the town and by arts, heritage and culture bodies. The council’s regeneration of Helensburgh’s town centre has won a Scottish Design Award and been shortlisted for a number of other awards.

Anyone who is interested in being part of the panel is asked to contact projects.east@argyll-bute.gov.uk
