CAMPAIGNERS fighting for the future of services at the Vale of Leven are taking their battle to the Scottish Parliament – and they want you to join them.
Around 100 protesters from Helensburgh, Lomond and West Dunbartonshire are expected to head to Edinburgh next week to campaign against cuts at the local hospital.
The rally, on Thursday, September 21, is being organised by the Hospitalwatch campaign group and local MSP Jackie Baillie.
Special buses will run from Helensburgh, Alexandria and Dumbarton next Thursday to bring local people to a rally outside the Parliament building at Holyrood.
The cost of the trip, plus a light lunch for the campaigners, is being met by an anonymous donor from Helensburgh.
Places for transport will be allocated on a first come, first served basis, so if you would like to attend the demo please call 01389 734214 or email jackie.baillie.msp@parliament.scot before Monday, September 18.
The Edinburgh rally follows public meetings in Helensburgh and Alexandria this summer organised in response to the threat to out-of-hours GP services at the Vale.
The Helensburgh meeting alone attracted around 450 concerned members of the public.
