RESIDENTS in Helensburgh and Lomond are being urged to take care while travelling as Hurricane Ophelia arrives in the UK.
People are being urged to brace themselves for gales, expected to be severe in places tonight.
The Met Office has forecast cloudy, wet and very windy weather with persistent and heavy rain. Gale force southerly veering southwesterly winds with severe gales are expected along the Argyll and Clyde coasts, extending to high ground and inland.
Coastal flooding is possible with maximum temperatures of 10ºc.
Tomorrow (Tuesday) is expected to have a cloudy and windy start with rain gradually drying out with a brighter afternoon and winds easing down.
