ONE of Helensburgh’s busiest streets has officially re-opened to traffic and pedestrians after a week-long closure.
Argyll and Bute Council buildings standards staff made the decision to close West Clyde Street on Friday, October 27 to keep members of the public safe after a building was found to be unsafe.
Two businesses, Cafe 19 and the Ardencaple Oriental Shop, were forced to shut and West Clyde Street itself, between Sinclair Street and Colquhoun Street, also had to be closed with diversions put in place.
The road was re-opened on Saturday at around 3.30pm.
A council spokesman said: “Temporary repairs have been done to building standards’ satisfaction.”
