A HELENSBURGH mum has paid tribute to her son who “was a rock for everyone” following the 20-year-old’s sudden death last week.

Mark Woolner died at his Hood Court home after suffering an epileptic seizure in his bed.

Social media has been flooded with tributes for the former Hermitage Academy pupils who has been described as as a “genuinely nice guy” and “one of the best”.

Mark, 20, died in the early hours of Wednesday, January 10, leaving a “void that cannot be filled”.

Mum Jodie told the Advertiser: “My worst fear was that he would have a seizure in bed – and it happened.

“I never thought I’d have to arrange a funeral for my boy.”

She added: “Mark was just a good kid. He was a funny, goofy lad who always made the best out of the worst.

“He loved his family and his friends meant everything to him. He was a rock for everyone and just had a heart of gold.

“He wound everyone up but you couldn’t stay mad at him. He was my best friend.”

Family friend Jenna Hall, who set up an online donation page to raise money to create a lasting memory of Mark in the town, posted online: “Words can’t describe how I feel right now pal.

“You were one of the best and all the kids loved you. Forever in my heart Mark, RIP buddy love you.”

The page set up by Jenna has already raised £1,595 and any money remaining after the memorial is in place will be donated to Epilepsy Scotland in Mark’s name.
