Revellers with big hearts packed a Helensburgh bar at the weekend for a special charity fundraiser.

Music lovers were treated to an upbeat night of non-stop entertainment to raise money for two very worthy causes.

The event was organised by Maria Brabender and Hazel Stevenson in aid of SiMBA (Simpsons Memory Box Appeal) and the Scottish Association for Mental Health.

Maria told the Advertiser: "The night was a roaring success. We raised £1273.70 through raffle and collection boxes.

"Along with walking the Glasgow Kiltwalk on April 29 we are sitting at £2,300 raised in total."

The night was especially poignant for Hazel and her husband Kerr who tragically lost their baby girl Kiera at 18 weeks of pregnancy.

SiMBA provided the couple with comfort and support with their memory box and a family room where they could spend precious time with their daughter.

Maria added: "The night would not have been possible without the help of Euan Catterson, owner of The Ashton, and manager June McMurdo - we are incredibly indebted to them."

She also thanked the live bands who provided entertainment.

Mark Long of the Singer Swingers got the night going and Hazel and Alan Mundie followed with an acoustic set.

Headliners for the night were local band Hot Ratz, fronted by Alistair Crichton and Mark Cavana, who got everyone up on their feet.

SiMBA was founded by a team of dedicated individuals in October 2005 in response to the needs of those affected by the loss of a baby during pregnancy or close to the time of birth.

Their memory boxes are more than just a box - they are an essential tool to help parents gather as many memories as they can of the precious time that they spend with their baby.

The charity supplies its memory boxes for maternity, pregnancy support, gynaecology, neonatal units, hospices, and to individuals upon request.

The Scottish Association for Mental Health (SAMH) currently operates over 60 services in communities across Scotland providing mental health social care support, homelessness, addictions and employment services, among others.

Maria has thanked all the local businesses which contributed to raffle:
