THREE men have been arrested and charged in connection with a series of incidents in Arrochar on Saturday night.

At around 9pm police received a report of a 59-year-old man being robbed in the village's Main Street.

The man was found by officers to be suffering from head injuries which later required hospital treatment.

A short time later police received a report of a disturbance outside the Ben Arthur Bothy in the village during which a car, which had been reported stolen from the Partick area of Glasgow earlier in the week, was crashed into a wall.

A further incident was reported in the Succcoth area of Arrochar of an attempted housebreaking.

Following police enquiries, three men, aged 22, 23 and 45, were arrested and charged in connection with the incidents.

They were due to appear at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on Monday.
