The Scottish SPCA is appealing to animal lovers in Helensburgh and Lomond to help animals in their care by donating prizes for their rehoming week open day raffle and tombola!

Scotland’s animal welfare charity is hosting an open day at its centres in Dumbarton on May 6 to encourage the public to come along, have fun and meet the animals in their care who are looking for a forever home.

Centre manager Joe McDade is appealing to kind hearted locals to donate toiletries, wine and any unwanted gifts they might have lying around from Christmas.

Joe said: “We’re looking forward to the open day and hope we can find new homes for some of the many animals in our care.

“We’ll be running different events on the day and would really appreciate any donations for the raffle and tombola.

“The money raised on the day will help abused, abandoned and injured animals throughout Scotland.

“As an animal welfare charity we receive no government or lottery funding so we rely entirely on the support of the public.”

Donations can be handed into the centre on Dumbarton Road, Milton.
