MAJOR works on the A82 at Leven Bridge near Dumbarton will not be complete by this weekend.
The news is likely to affect the large crowds heading to Balloch for the conclusion of the Glasgow Kiltwalk on Sunday.
A Scotland Transerv spokeswoman said: “Due to recent adverse weather conditions and to the extent of required structural concrete deck repairs, the works will not be completed in time for the Kiltwalk event.
“We can appreciate the frustration these ongoing essential maintenance repairs may cause to the general public, hauliers and for this charitable event.
“In order to reduce further disruption, alternative routes will be in place for the duration of the Kiltwalk event.”
