People in Kilcreggan and Rosneath have taken to social media to criticise the poor service from delivery firm Hermes in the area.

Residents shared their concern after a number of next day delivery packages did not arrive on time, or parcels were delivered to the wrong address because the courier couldn’t find the right one.

Beryl Edwards, from Kilcreggan, told the Advertiser she ordered a package from the Amber Wilson catalogue with next day delivery, but did not receive it.

She then called Hermes’ head office and they claimed that the driver attempted to deliver the parcel, but no one was home.

She said: “I live in the heart of the village and was in my garden all day, so there is no way that I missed the delivery. “

The package was delivered four days later and Amber Rose gave her the money back that she paid for next day delivery, but Beryl insisted this wasn’t important and that a reliable service should be a priority.

“A couple of years ago they were very good but I started using them again recently it was delivered four days late.

“Over the last year or so all I have seen is complaints. I don’t know what has happened but they have just given up the ghost.”

A spokesperson for Hermes said: “The service that Ms Edwards received from us was not acceptable and we would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused.

“We are speaking with the courier involved to ensure that good levels of service are maintained throughout the area.”
