A HELENSBURGH man who grabbed a member of staff at the town’s Costa Coffee restaurant has been told he’ll be admonished if he can stay out of trouble for the next six months.
Sheriff Maxwell Hendry said he was minded to take the “slightly unusual” step of handing out the legal equivalent of a slap on the wrists after hearing details of Jacob Foster’s personal circumstances.
The 25-year-old appeared at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on Friday for sentencing after pleading guilty to seizing his victim by the body at the West Princes Street restaurant on January 31.
Foster’s solicitor told the court her client had decided voluntarily that he would stay away from Costa after the incident.
Foster, of Campbell Drive, was told to stay out of trouble until January 11, 2019.
