POLICE and the Loch Lomond Rescue Boat are searching for a man who went missing while swimming in Loch Lomond on Wednesday night.
The 25-year-old is thought to have got into difficultly in the water near the Maid of the Loch and Drumkinnon Bay at around 9pm on July 4.
A police search party resumed this morning in collaboration with the Loch Lomond Rescue Boat.
Inspector Roddy MacNeill, of Dumbarton police station, confirmed a 25-year-old went swimming in the loch and got into difficulty.
The Balloch area was said to have been extremely busy yesterday, as temperatures hit the low twenties again.
The rescue service has had a busy week, having been called out five times in the last seven days.
Three of those were to assist vessels and their passengers back to safety after mechanical failure, while the other two were to bring stranded persons back to shore.
After the recent hot weather, the number of people visiting the loch and the surrounding area has increased.
The rescue boat's crew have issued a stay safe warning on their Facebook page urging people to be prepared when taking a dip.
