This week's Throwback Thursday takes a look at our story from the Margaret Rose School of Dance display in 2003

TALENTED dancers from Helensburgh and Lomond have showcased their dancing abilities as Margaret Rose School of Dance held their annual display recently.

Helensburgh’s Victoria Halls were packed as parents, family and friends watched a variety show which included Highland, tap, disco, hip hop, ballet and jazz routines from the pupils.

The event gave the pupils the chance to show off their dancing skills to a smiling crowd.

Even Anna Rose, Margaret MacInnes’s granddaughter, made her first appearance on stage at just six months old and dressed in a tutu and butterfly wings.

Following the performances, trophies were awarded to pupils in a number of categories.

They were as follows. Disco: Amirah Hussain, Hayden Cameron, Emma McTernon. Highland: Olivia Burns, Ellie Fletcher and Fiona Dade. Stage: Eilidh Meikle, Orla Ridge and Esme Francis Barr.

Most improved overall: Loren Mackie. Service to the school: Angela Mackie.

Margaret told the Advertiser: “The dancers have had a busy schedule again this year.

“They danced at Fair in the Square, St Joseph’s Primary’s barbecue, John Logie Baird’s School fayre, and competed at Helensburgh Highland Games and the Helensburgh Bicentenary competition.”
